While there has been no official confirmation that Prigozhin is in fact dead, the probability is higher than 90% that it will turn out to be the case. One of the factors that keeps some doubts alive is the fact that there were two Wagner Jets scheduled to fly the same route, the second returned to Moscow as soon as word was received of the loss of the first aircraft. It's a slim hope but one that Wagner supporters are holding on to for the time being. The Wagner members are also saying that if Prigozhin is dead they will march on the Kremlin and seek revenge assuming that Putin was responsible.

The current working theory is that the plane was hit by an anti aircraft missile, whether intentionally or as a mistaken identification as a incoming Ukrainian drone we don't know. What we do know is that Ukrainians are overjoyed, both with the fact Prigozhin is deceased and at the likelihood of some blow back against Putin.

The bodies of Prigozhin and his deputy have been formally identified after an examination, the probability that he is now dead has risen to 95%.

In a public announcement President Putin has sent his heartfelt condolences to Prigozhin's family.

The investigation into the "accident" is ongoing. US intelligence have shifted from it being a bomb on the aircraft to supporting the Russian view it was a missile strike without suggesting where the missile may have originated.

Putin also said in his annouy that 'Prigozhin had made some bad mistakes'.
The message is 'Don't upset The Kremlin'.
