So the situation in Ukraine hasn't shifted much, though Russia now seems to increasing the pace of its advances all along the line of engagement, the only bright spot for the UAF is a small beachhead on the Dnipro which has come at a terrible cost of lives and some annoying, for the Russians, drones strikes on infrastructure inside of Russia, this has annoyed the US and the EU more than Putin however as they are forever worried about an expanded conflict and the US at least has its hands full elsewhere.

Rumors and acquisitions of the dismissal of the General Staff persist and it seems all but certain that Gen Valery Zaluzhny has been, if not dismissed, had his card marked for such, which would be a killer blow for Ukraine, but its people, power and politics that dominates rather than any sensible Governing.

So Gen Valery Zaluzhny has been sacked or retired or replaced or ....... and Ukraine has run out of people to send to the front line, their friends are no longer as avid in their support or are no longer supporting them at all and the citizens have had enough of Zelensky and his making money and corruption at the expense of the lives of their loved ones.

What happens now?

Monitoring various Ukrainian and Russian news sources overnight it appears that in the city of Adveeka in the Donbass the Ukrainian defenses have completely collapsed and there is widespread panic as a hasty retreat is organised. This was the last significant defensive location the Ukrainians had in this sector of the battlefront and from where they have been shelling the civilian city of Donesk for the last 8 years.

If the Russians can consolidate this purge of the Ukrainian defenders they would be free to break out on a wider front that would threaten several major Ukrainian cities. It also forces the Ukrainians to pull their heavy artillery further back and this will relieve the pressure on Crimea. If the Russians now breakout the Ukrainians entire defensive frontline could collapse.

Putin could yet have his Kyiv victory, such a possibility is clearly panicking those in London and Washington, as well as Brussels who have poured so much into a Ukrainian victory. The current NATO exercise could become a NATO invasion force which would be devastating for Europe.
