On the national news last night, they where talking about inflation reaching 11% before the end of the year. Some petrol prices near London have already reached £2 a litre .

The good times are rolling for Big Oil. 3 things to know about their surging profits

It's not the whole story but corporations are taking advantage of scarcity.

And it's a scarcity that they helped manufacture, closing refineries and reducing pumping to exacerbate the shortages and then charging more because of it, and they still pick up Government subsidies and pay little tax.

The inflation rate for the world is by republicans rhetoric all Bidens fault. That man is more than the worlds most powerful man. He can affect the world with his policies, all in less then two years.

The US is on track for an inflation rate of 8.9 percent the worst since 1980. Rates of inflation have been cycling for a decade, they happen continuously. It's amazing how President Biden can affect the inflation rate throughout most of the world. Thats a lot of power.
I wonder if the pandemic for essentially two years, climate change, industries disrupted, poor crops, droughts, Russian aggression in Ukraine, and partisan politics might have a hand in that?
Even good ole Canada is on track for 6.7 inflation... I can't believe President Biden is that powerful.

The GOP has no foresight, it only has a political agenda, and that agenda is the demise of Democracy in the USA.You have only to look at what is happening in Texas, Georgia, Alabama, and all states with roots in the old Confederacy, actions speak much louder than words.

As is always the case, the folks at the bottom of the economic ladder are hurt the most. If you are already squeezing every pence to get by, how do you squeeze it 9% harder?

Going to be interesting times ahead, The super greedy energy companies are under the impression we will keep paying their prices lol
I have parked the car the other day when diesel hit £2.00 a litre and knowing most of it is tax I would rather get my bike out or walk. I refuse to pay rip off prices on fuel.

I have turned off the gas and told the gas company I want my account closed and the meter removed as I refuse to be robbed by them.
I am in the process of trying undertsand solar panels on my roof and how it all works etc then the electricity meter is gone too.
We can buy solar panels which generate a good amount of power and they are small enough to put on the roof of a camper van so if I buy large ones or many small ones I think I will have enough power to run my house.

It is all caused by greed nothing less nothing more. If people would say No we dont want your product it is far to expensive they would do something about it but they take everyone for mugs and think they will keep paying anyway and most people do keep paying. Make a stance or sit back and watch it climb climb climb until the country makes Greece look like Dubai.

Simple maths You bring home an average wage of £100 a week and your running costs are £200 a week it won't work, that is the UK for you ruined top to bottom by greed and fatcats and it will only get worse until it self implodes.
Me and the wife have been getting that moving away bug again lately and Fiji is looking very nice and inviting.

I think the weather is about same here as in England, so my example is: I have 20 panels on my roof, they produce up to 5.3 kwh of electricity. Now that's the ideal. Its down hill from there. I can sell my excess power to my local power company and they have to buy it. I have an inverter that feeds my power to the local power grid.
I yearly get a check from the local power company for between 800 to 1100 dollars US. I also get a bill from the power company for upkeep of the power grid. I don't know how it works in UK. but if you don't have an inverter you would have to store your electricity in batteries of some sort. That can get expensive. There are two of us living in the house. We don't waste electricity, but we do not worry too much using heat or lights.

Solar panels produce d.c. electricity, not a.c.which a lot of appliances need to run them. If you wish to come off the grid, you will need a means of storing the excess energy during the day and release it when you need it at night. You'll also need an inverter unit to turn the the stored energy back in to a.c.that you can use.
