Tomorrow being the first of October means the new energy price cap applies to us here in the UK, so will have to wait and see how bad things will become next month .

Noticed whilst out shopping yesterday afternoon, some of the prices have gone up again. May only be a few pence from when I last bought the items last month, but over the year, it soon mounts up .

Apparently more people are paying with cash when shopping for food.

I buy from a supermarket online, and it is delivered to our door. The supermarket has soooo many items "out of stock". Also as has been pointed out prices have gone up. Wish that German firm, you know the one, would deliver.

Me too. I used to shop there before the pandemic but now my husband can’t manage all of the lifting so we use an online store.

Had been paying cash for my shopping recently, last month, but that was just to use up my old paper £20 notes. All gone, so back to using the credit card again. Noticed last night, and earlier in the week. some prices have gone up a few more pence again .

On the national news this week they where discussing the fact of how much certain basic foodstuffs have gone up this past year, and how some of the supermarket own brands have gone up the most .

I’ve noticed cheese has gone up a great deal, but I’d blame it on greedy retailers rather than the Ukraine war!

I would have thought that the brexit was to blame for that.

Recent months have seen dairy producers hit by rocketing energy and input costs, exacerbated of course by the wider global impact of the war in Ukraine, forcing dairy prices to record highs.
