My childhood was really good …but reading what some of you have said, about
losing a parent at such a young age is devastating , I feel for you all., it is so sad..:xxx:

I was more or less a loner, not surprising, because I am an only child. Most of my childhood friends were girls. My best friend was Rosemary who lived across the street; she was 5 years older than me and taught me a lot.

Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end

I grew up with an abusive father. School wasn't pleasant and it was made worse because my father would use it as an excuse to torment me over it, which meant I had little interest in school, apart from looking forward to the time when I could leave school and get away from my father. Only when that happened did I concentrate on my education.

To grow up in the 1930s - a time when we could play in the streets - as there were NO cars.
Make your own toys Barrows - assemble a sort of bike at ten - 0ur school was in the middle
of a Council Estate - but the lads were from there were my mates - until after school- then
we were pelted with stones - on the way home - Oh! happy days.
