Being a widow for 5 years, I enjoy living alone and having the freedom. Am not interested in scammers, just honest guys close to my age. Trust and respect has to be earned. I have found that long distance relationships/friendship are stressful and lack satisfaction, emotionally and physically.

Very difficult during the covid19 limitations.

Honesty, trust and respect must be priority. Being independent and self sufficient speaks for itself. One is never too old for true love and passion.

True, but when you think about it, it comes with so many strings and obligations as well as a heck of a lot of time-commitment that, in the end, who needs the hassle. The effort hardly seems worth the return. ;)

Love knows no age limit, my late wife was 14 years older than me and disabled but we shared a wonderful loving relationship.

I have two good friends who were widowed and both were on dating sites with three months of being bereaved.

Both found new partners who they subsequently married but I sometimes wonder when talking to them how happy they are deep down.

The need/ desire to have someone of the opposite sex in one's life is instinctual, but one does not need to marry to enjoy such a relationship. Two should put in perspective what they expect from the relationship, then go from there.Never force yourself into a type of relationship you're not looking for, simply because you are lonely. I prefer hassle free relationships, all one needs is a partner looking for the same; they are out there.

People who want a relationship simply because they are lonely should be avoided like the plague at all costs.
