We are suspicious. Living in a remote are we have a lot of problems with our broadband, recently we have made several complaints. Initially the call is dealt with in India and passed on to local engineers. Three times recently, one week after engineers have called, we have had calls from India from supposed BT personnel who seem familiar with our broadband problems, talking about hubs and routers. They suggest it is still causing concern and would we please switch on our computer so they can check its performance. This, we know, is an an attempted scam.
It seems too convenient that their scam call follows our complaint. Very plausible.

Yes, BT Comms, but they are in India and we don't know who we are talking to! Who is genuine ? My husband is an ex BT man.
Used to be in customer service when it was local ! We knew where we were then. When they ring us out of the blue we don't know if they are genuine or not. His advice is never switch the computer on for anyone. Scammers are after your IP address.

Yes, but it often does not block scam calls from other countries, besides which they constantly change numbers / zones etc. However, it is a good organisation.

Does your phone allow you to block numbers? If so,just keep constantly blocking the overseas phone numbers, they will soon get fed up.

Yes, we have a number to block them. It's keeping up with them that's the problem.

Ask for your number to be changed,
Or don’t accept withheld number
