Have travelled widely all over the world and for a while lived in two other European countries but could never now contemplate living anywhere other than the U.K.

Our history, tradition, quirky customs, unique sporting events, old pubs gorgeous countryside and of course right now the magnificent NHS.

There are many things I love about Scotland and others have chosen similar.

Beautiful scenery

Soft water - that's why our whisky tastes soooo good

The friendliness of the people - we have a reputation for being mean but believe me it isn't true.

The National Health Service

Our rich history and traditions which make Scotland a very popular tourist destination.

Well the first thing I love about my country is the French crispy baguette of course and the never ever equalled French cake shops.

Love the fact that we are an hexagone with borders to so many countries we can drive to in no time, the beautiful and huge variety of climates and sceneries we have from our snowy mountains to our mediterranean sea.

The excellent healt care system and free schooling.

The daily ritual of spending hours of family time round the dinner table every night and at week ends.

And the tendency of the French to take it to the streets to dance, or to protest against whatever silly policy the government is trying to impose on us...
Smile to life and life will smile back at you.

Our generosity, our friendliness, our season changes, our crazy politeness (lol), our medical care to every single person who needs it...

And beautiful scenery from coast to coast ....

Oh, Canada ! :)

As an American citizen it makes me tear up reading that most of you said it was your healthcare that was among the top things you love about your country. Me on the other hand feel that's one of the worse things about the US. The price, the access to quality based on your status, and the profit seeking opportunist taint it.

Here in U.K., we have good healthcare, education for our children, accommodation, running water, sounds stupid doesn’t it? But In poorer countries, running water is something that they can only dream about, public transport, tourism attractions, sporting events,

Having worked most of my life overseas, Africa, Middle East, China, Venezuela included I have seen poverty at it's worst, we are very lucky here in UK with what we have, It disturbs me greatly that people complain about our country and what it gives us.
There are far too many people in the world living in dire conditions that have to be seen to be believed

When you see pictures of the very very poor countries, which doesn’t have clean running water, sterile hospitals, proper housing, education,
It makes you very grateful for what you have.

I have always wondered why the Americans are not more vocal about healthcare costs. even adjusting for high parity value, costs in India are relatively quite low- and if you are from low income groups, the costs are negligible though with a lower quality of service.

I thought obamacare was a great step forward but i felt not too many americans cared for it much. i have tried to find the reason for it but have not found a really convincing one as yet
