Mouse? or Hamster? I note some folk now choose to use a "wireless aka a cordless mouse" with their computers.
But that raises an interesting question and its surprising just who has entered the discussion.

A mouse has a long tail ... or a "cord"
A hamster doesn't.

SO... if our wireless computer "mouse" device now has no tail .... isn't it actually really far more accurately described as a "hamster" device.??

Logitech has officially said so..

www.logitech.com/en-au/promo/hamsters.html

And even Elon Musk thinks so...
www.thenews.com.pk/latest/1061434-elon-m...ename-wireless-mouse

The first prompt for the change seems to have begun here.
www.change.org/p/donald-trump-rename-the...2d-b9ac-f070cab9d5b4

SO... what do you think ? As another "creature of habit" we humans often seem to find it hard to shake our old long practiced behaviours.

People can call it what they want, I will always refer to it as a mouse, with or without a tail .

Though there are plenty of made up technical sounding names for this input device the inventor Douglas Engelbart who at the time was the director of the Augmentation Research Center (ARC) at Stanford Research Institute (SRI), in Menlo Park, California, always called it a mouse, for obvious reasons. The first mouse came into being in 1964 as part of a larger project to augment human intellect.

Well almost correct. In fact in the beginning when designing it he actually called it " a bug " it later became " a mouse "

And this begs another question for the sexpots out there ... what is a "nipple" on a computer ? :S B)

Now don't telll me you haven't seen a nipple on a computer tongue.png

It’s a little red button in the middle of the key board. Not sure what it’s for.

It’s used as a secondary cursor control.
