Am I right in thinking that in the USA jam is made from fruit, crushed or whole, and jelly is made from just the juice of the fruit ? Personally I prefer jam.

In the US, jam, jelly, preserves and marmalade are similar and spread on toast.



What the Brits call jelly is what we call gelatin (also known by the brand name Jello).
