My husband has requested a ‘fly bat’ as a gift for Father’s Day. This is a device rather like a racquet that is used to hit flies with and then at the touch of a button cremates them. You can actually see the sparks.

I broke his current fly bat in a battle with a buzzing bluebottle that got in through the window in the middle of the night. In a frenzied attack I smashed the bat down so hard it broke in two. The fly survived.
He is lost without his bat. Our daughter is going to send one from a Mail order company.

We have about 4 of them and take great pleasure in pressing the button so it is charged then sneaking up behind people and touching their ear with it and giving them a buzz
My wife got me on the butt ages ago lol They work well if you touch it on someone's elbows as I have done and had done to me many times  They are good for pesky flies also.

I have a bat as you described....sadly the flies around these parts are very fast and have been well trained in avoidance techniques..... either that or I'm just too old and slow.....

We have 2 of those electric bats to kill flies, moths etc., one upstairs and one downstairs. Wouldn't be without one, but we have never "buzzed" anyone's elbow etc.
