Hot Cross Buns in M&S yesterday £1.90 for 4.

Maybe a little more expensive than some, but looked delicious! smile.png

I’ve been doing a bit of Hot Cross Bun testing this last few weeks wink.png and I can confirm that the M&S Luxury Fruited Buns are the nicest I’ve tried so far! - when I bought mine, they had an offer of 2 packs of 4 for £3 - it was a mix & match offer on their range of different flavoured hot cross buns and they sell Gluten Free buns too, so I chose a pack of traditional buns for me to eat straightaway plus a Gluten free pack to put in the freezer for next week, when a friend who cannot tolerate Gluten is coming to visit.

I’m currently trying some Tesco “Finest” range hot cross buns, which were slightly cheaper than M&S (2 packs of 4 for £2.50) but they are not nearly as nice and definitely less fruity.

I have read that Aldi Luxury Fruited hot cross buns compare favourably to M&S buns and are only £1.25 for 4 - but I haven’t tried them myself.

They aren't so tasty as Asda's top of the range ones IMO. Not sure what they call them, Extra Fruity?

M&S do the best buns, especially with a thick layer of dairy butter....

I’ve added Asda to my Hot Cross Bun “tasting list” - their shop is directly opposite M&S Food Shop in my town, so I’ll give ‘em a try - all for the sake of my market research tasting experiments of Hot Cross Buns, of course!

I love hot cross buns and pick up a pack of six regularly from Tesco, so tasty toasted and spread with butter. I have them for breakfast sometimes too.
