Sure, I do not know his circumstances. He might be living with elderly relatives.
Sure is a long time to be wearing a mask every day for 3 years and counting.
One has to wonder if he will ever feel safe without a mask.

well he wears it when you see him.at work

many people here (in SA) have been doing that too, in certain work places and still are - eg staff working in hospitals and until recently Aged Care facilities, they still have to wear them at work
I had to at work for long time, you get used to it.

maybe your guy is more at risk due to medical condition or wants to protect his elderly relative or relative with medical condition.

Maybe, being Asian, he is just used to wearing a mask in public anyway - many places in Asia this is the norm and was before Covid.

Some people still come into my work place wearing masks - they dont have to but they can if they want to.

well they do have to if they have cold or flu symptoms - but that was case before Covid anyway.

I still wear a mask whenever I’m around other people; especially if I don’t know their vaccination history.

True this is the norm in Asia when there is a flue trend, or other seasonal viruses.
Most people in Asia Thailand, China, Japan still use masks at work or in public transport or as a courtesy to others when they are themselves sneezing or coughing.

My husband still wears a face mask wherever he goes because he has CHF. Depending on where I am going, I still wear one too. The person in charge of our local university hospital appeared on TV last week and told people in the area she could not guarantee their safety it they have to attend hospital during the junior doctors’ strike.
Makes sense to try to keep well and wear a mask in shops etc. or crowded places if you or a person you are living with is vulnerable, especially as not many people bother to wear them these days and some don’t even cover their mouths when they cough or use handkerchief when sneezing.

Ultimately, it's his decision and not for me or anyone to comment on. If he wants to wear one, then it's a case of "so what?".

I am going on a coach trip in a few months time and if I feel there is a need to wear one, I will.

Absolutely agree with all your comments...

However, interestingly a work colleague's husband is a top surgeon in London. He has said that those who wear fabric masks are at risk of inhaling small plastic fibres and that he fears in around 10 years time there will be a massive increase in those suffering from breathing issues and lung cancer as a result.

Hopefully, this does not also apply to the blue surgical masks - otherwise the medical professionals would not be wearing and promoting them!?

Surgical masks are for single use only and should be regularly replaced……whereas fabric masks are reused over and over.

It's up to people if they want to wear masks still.
I don't I stopped ages ago, stepdaughter has been in hospital since last Friday and going in and out taking her stuff etc we are never asked to mask up, not even the nurses or patients are masked up anymore, there is signs saying please wear a mask but I didn't see one being worn.

I have seen still people on their own in cars windows shut driving along wearing a mask.
It makes me smile but hey ho it is up to them if they want to.

Didn't the Chinese start wearing masks years back due to smog and some flu/covid thing they had over there? I believe many of them still do over there, hey ho up to them they not harming anyone so let them get on with it.

Yes I've done that.
If I was going from one shop to the other or somewhere during work time - no point taking mask on and off over and over.
Especially if one wears glasses and finally has it adjusted to not fog up.
