After all, the economy was more important than the people, especially after the hit taken due to Brexit. They had a rethink when the death toll started getting out of control and the whole system looked like going down in flames.
Herd immunity does require everyone to catch it, but they chose to lock us down and keep us apart so no one would catch it!
The vaccine was supposed to give us herd immunity but that didn't work either for herd immunity, we are lucky that when the virus mutated it mutated in to a lot less damaging than the original Alpha strain which was so new to the body it did cause untold damage we got Omicron which is nothing to worry about.
It was to late for the lockdown to have any effect the virus was already far and wide.
The constant disinfecting of everywhere helped as the country has never been cleaned like that before.
As time went on millions caught covid and survived and it made our immune systems a lot stronger which is the main reason covid doesn't do the damage it did when it first came about we had small doses of the virus and our immune system developed the necessary to battle it if we got it again.
An argument which is still ongoing on did the vaccine give us that protection or did natural immune systems kick in and give us the protection? The only thing I can see is people who have never been jabbed seem to have developed the same immune system workings as those jabbed! I am not a scientist so I will wait for the answer on that one.
I do believe they thought closing the country down and putting us in lockdown at first was the correct decision as why destroy the economy if they didn't need to? but for spread it was to late as we know.
What came after that on all the fines if you go out and all the mass controlling jab or job etc was just a that a controlling episode which didn't work as people are not stupid.
The death tolls are an absolute disgrace of how they were collated according to research over 90% of the death toll was not covid which caused the deaths.
As for Brexit that is going to be blamed for all sorts for a long time it is the easy out route for anything, just look at the shortage of cucumbers and tomatoes in the UK they quickly blame it on Brexit when the real reason is in the UK the farmers who grow these things cannot afford to switch on the heating in the large greenhouses where they are grown and seeing as the UK is cold most of the time they need heating but the costs of energy is so high they would have to get £20 for a bag of tomatoes from the retailer to make any money and then we would be paying £30 for toamtoes and that won't happen so the farmers didn't bother growing them.
The EU is and has done since the day we voted to leave made life for the UK as hard as possible they are like big babies with a vindictive streak, They are the ones who are making it far more difficult than it should be to import stuff.
But we ride the storm and we will get through it because the EU have forgotten they are playing with the UK the land of the stubborn the land of the people who will never back down no matter what ever and the EU is on very shaky legs with other countries bordering walking away and we will be here still when the EU folds through their own fault and a better more fair none political EU can rise for trade only which is what all the present members of the EU want and what we would accept if it was just trade and no politics.
Yes leaving the EU was going to bring some problems everyone knew this but they will ride out and we will be better for it. It will happen even quicker if the EU stop acting like schoolground children.
