This isn't as easy as I thought. How to banish the loneliness blues. Comes in bouts. Not always lonely. But when it hits, like a thunderbolt.
You can be amongst a crowd yet still feel so alone.
Talking helps. But then you need someone you're able to talk to.

I don’t think the fact that Autumn/Winter is around the corner helps

Having someone to talk to is the key. In my previous life, I had no one and every minute seemed like an hour. I craved human contact.

They are not there to give you these escapes. They are there to help people who need physical help to be able to give you sheets of people to help you with chores etc.

Where to go for help with loneliness

Organisations that support people who feel alone.

Age UK's vision is to make the UK a great place to grow older. Their volunteer befriending service is one of the ways Age UK tries to beat loneliness in later life.

The Silver Line is a free, 24 hour, confidential helpline for older people.

There are several live links to click on in this webpage of The Red Cross, I have only copy/pasted a few here. This webpage is worth a look at least. Hope this helps smile.png smile.png

I agree with everything you said ,but how does one go about finding that one person that invokes your trust? Someone that you can trust with your feelings.

You build a friendship with a person,as time goes on,you both learn to be able to trust each other

I totally agree with what you're saying. I've never felt really lonely, until recently & it hit me hard out of the blue. Discussing it on a forum doesn't really help either. One need adult friends around one to visit, to talk to.

Human contact is the most important for overcoming loneliness. I've very recently been told by a guy that loneliness can kill a man. I would not have believed that before, if I had not gone through a bout of extreme loneliness quite recently.
