I get reduced rate on the long distance buses. I have been offered a seat twice on the London underground, so thank you Londoners.

i can get up when I want, go to bed when i want and not have to think about going to work next day, except that i now work physically harder than i did in my 30s.
I can complain about the younger generation, they have never had it so good
i can sit in the garden and go to sleep.

I was happy being at work although it was hard at times ,

I now enjoy the freedom of choice I have ,to do what I want ,when I want.

I'm already there, Rosie. I loved my work, all 40 years of it, and three different careers! I never felt my freedom was constricted by my working.

Now, I'm working on that choice of what to do now? If I find it, I'll do it when I want ?? :P

Better to be be surprised at what's around the next corner than to plan on what I might find there.

I love: being a grandmother. (When he frames my face in his hands, wow - as good as it gets!)
I love: saying "I want a senior coffee, please," at McDonald's drive-thru; makes me feel like I'm in a very cool club.
I love: how much more I notice the beauty and the unhurried pace of nature.
I love: watching re-runs of my favorite TV shows and movies, and the nostalgia it brings.
i love: sitting back quietly and watching the three good-hearted kids I raised, become three good-hearted grown-ups.

So far, being a senior ain't half bad. :)

I agree. I go to Wendy's because senior coffees are free at most locations near me.
