One. Miriam Margoles strutting her stuff around.
Didn't know, after all her years doing the Celeb bit here. That she had taken up Australian citizenship.
Just as well really.
She's notorious for asking impertinent and invasive questions. Countering replies with her own opinions. Some of which, were quite disparaging of Ozzie. Only politely tolerated, on her actually showing her certificate of Citizenship!
Ask her a similar complicated invasive question about herself. And she angrily goes all Woke

I watched her 3 part series Almost Australian and didn't find it disparaging of Aust at all. It was honest about issues in places but so a documentary should be.

Not sure what you mean by ' just as well' - she is still a UK citizen too. Dual citizenship.

I came to OZ in 1961 on my own, and coming from a family of ten was a big step. The Tv Series "10 Pound Poms" is just being screened here, a Journalist from The Guardian Newspaper Phone Interviewed me about the experience I had, if you want can read at the link.No need to subscribe just click "Later"

My sister and her husband went out in the early 70's. They are still there in Perth and love it. Strangely enough their two children are now back in UK. One is married and is now permanent and the other on a 5 year contract. Funny how things evolve. I wanted to go but my wife did not and we ended up moving around UK and Middle East until we have ended up in Ireland.

But if she had come out with her comments in Albany WA 50/60's. Whalers would have taken her to the Cleaners PDQ

I’ve really enjoyed Ten Pound Poms having watched the last episode on Sunday.
I think the way that story lines were left open ended they must be planning a second series.
