Excellent series, the corner shop from Victorian times till today. Brings back so many memories, well worth a watch to see the changes over the years. On catchup BBC2.
I think, if you have enough inner resources, then you can live in isolation for long periods of time and not feel diminished by it.

I missed the earlier ones Phoebe but have really enjoyed the episodes that I watched from the 50's/60's/70's and 80's.

Apart from being very entertaining, it's also been very informative......I never realised at the time what a lot of rubbish we were eating during the 70's, although we thought it was very moder at the time :laugh:
Mind you the fondue was a good invention from that era!!

Love this series the wife and I have watched everyone. Did you notice how big the Freddo Chocolate bars were and the general size of chocolate bars was bigger in the 70s than today.
I loved the corner shops when I was young 60s and 70s Black Jacks were one of my all time favs,
