At 88, I have just about lost all of my teenage/early 20's friends. I do have my wife of 66 years who will become 86 in June and 2 cousins. After that there's no one.

How about you folks? In the same boat as I or do you still have a handful of old acquaintances/relatives to chat with?

Very sad but inevitable I suppose, I remember my mum telling me all her friends were gone, I lost 3 in 2 months a couple of years ago, but quite a few of my friends are younger than me so should be around for a while...

So pleased you still have your wife of 66 years Dave and hope she has a lovely birthday in June

I hear you. I have lost quite a few this past year. Ones I used to talk to on the phone. I miss them.
You are fortunate you still have your wife.

i have lost 4 good friends - we use to travel 5 mile most days to have tea at a Supermarket.
One by one Bill went first - He had bad legs - could only walk pushing his trolly to the bus stop.
Next came Ken - A playmate after school ( different schools) - then John - A workmate he had
bad legs as well - then Bob - I only knew him from the tea time - He was the one who gave me
the bad news - of the others not being around - any more. I did see one of my workmates - on
a bus - he took up work later as a taxi driver. - I dont see him any more as the Viirus came along.
- stopping my trip to that Supermarket - The supermarket`s changed- resized down - new cafe...
I have been shielded - because of the Virus - not time YET to visit the NEW CAFE...

Pardon the intrusion from a mere 75 year old, but you are not alone. My high school class had 43 kids in, one of which was my current SO. Just got news this past week that 2 more had passed away. I think that makes 20 of the 43. I moved away from the area right after high school and lost contact with virtually all of my classmates, but it is still upsetting to hear of their passing.

I've moved around a lot, and I'm a loner, so never really made close friends as an adult. I do still have 2 older brothers, my son, and my SO, and that's it.

Being very seriously involved in several hobbies lifelong has kept me with a good supply of close friends. I could have someone to fish with or go shooting with daily if I chose to go, I feel very fortunate on having them also good folks.
