Although my bodywork has dropped to pieces and I have been right round the clock.
My exhaust has started to go now but my headlights are still shining.

I was looking through the threads and saw this in one of them (Create A Story).

I dont have to create one because its already written in magazine form about the first 20 years of my life that takes inthe 1930s depression and being put in a so called Sisters-of-Mercy home.
Finally going home to my family around 1936/7 time for me to join in the Jubilee.
It then takes the reader through the war being machine gunned in the hopfields and being bombed out twice during the London Blitz and post war years. All proceeds from it has gone to my local Childrens Hospice after printing costs are taken out.
I have had many folk coming to me from worldwide for my tales of long ago because they say its living history.
It has kept me busy during this traumatic era during this blasted virus lockdown with answering many folk from worldwide.

Just going now to Facetime my family.

Cheers everyone.

Ohhh Maywalk and QuinT I am from a generation that has lived in (relative) peace and I do so admire the fortitude of your generation.
I now spend most of my time assisting The Royal British Legion Overseas in what ever way I can and often sit reminiscing with our members or beneficiaries thoroughly enjoying every one of the stories that they tell.
Take care and keep safe

Oral history is incredibly important. Keep telling your tales, they have to be recorded for posterity. Your contribution is valuable. Get the stories out there.....

I had a book of veteran's tales published for the RBL with all proceeds going to the RBL after the printing costs were taken out titled "Voices of Heroes" about 9 years ago.
They are tales from UK veterans sent to me for my website that I decided to put into a slimline magazine to help raise money for the RBL.

Think I have mentioned it before I sat in Macclesfield hospital a few years back talking to a lady who was 106 iirc and she was telling me what it was like in the different decades, she was fascinating I could have sat there all night and day listening.
Listening to someone who actually lived it is an experience in itself.

Well done to all those who put pen to paper and Maywalk I would love to read your book.
Please let me know where I can buy it when it is out.
All the best to you.
