Buzz50 created a dedicated forum section for BrExit albeit a little late in the day.

I'd like to propose a dedicated forum section for Coronavirus (COVID-19) so we can likewise discuss in separate threads the different aspects related to the developing situation.

Sub threads could include:

Coping with COVID-19 - A thread for people who have it and how they are coping

Surviving Isolation - Tips on isolating, things people will need, how to cope etc

Impact to business - Reports/posts on how the situation is affecting people's businesses

Travel Testimonies - People's reports on how they have been treated in different countries etc

and so on

I think there is enough false information and scaremongering without the need for a dedicated thread .

I think the forum has the potential to offer a great deal of useful information to people in such a worrying time.

We could maintain a list of affected areas, known red zones, high risk spots etc

We could give people ideas on how and what to cook with limited ingredients whilst they are stuck at home.

We could have testimonies of what medications or remedies have helped people cope with the virus

You could even have a plea for help thread where people stuck at home needing supplies could see if there is anyone else here local to them that could help.

Lots of possibilities :-)

Coronavirus is a VERY hot topic across the internet as indeed BrExit was the past 3 years. That should be the perfect opportunity for any forum to vastly increase its membership and thus earn extra revenue imo. £££££

I think separate threads may be more useful, as the situation develops.
If only to separate facts from opinion and separate useful, supportive information and tips on how to cope from the more speculative rants about conspiracies and grumblings.

The problem with everything being merged into one thread is that you have to wade through a lot of dross to find a few gems of information - and, of course, things may be different for Buzzers in different countries, so what is very relevant for some is not for others.

The idea of a section for the Coronavirus Pandemic is already in the pipeline.

These things take time to set up and technical resources to prioritise.

But it will be done.
