Do you recall some of the software that you use to have on your computers back in the days of Windows 95, 98 &98SE, XP, Millennium, Vista?

Some I remember were: WinZip, and later I used Un Zip Me, for extracting files, Spybot Search and Destroy (probably the worst anti-spyware program that I ever had), Spy Subtract, Spy Sweeper, Counterspy, Win Patrol, Spyware Blaster, Zone Alarm Firewall.

Spy Sweeper, and Counterspy, were turned into malware programs that included an antivirus. Spy Sweeper is still around, but Counter Spy (made by Sunbelt Software, then bought by GFI), was stopped when the company made Vipre anti-malware (virus & spyware detection).

Remembering Harry Chapin 12/7/42-7/16/81
A Better Place to Be

It was an early morning bar room
And the place just opened up
And the little man come in so fast and
Started at his cup
And the broad who served the whisky
She was a big old friendly girl
And she tried to fight her empty nights
By smilin' at the world

Started using Lotus in the old pre-WYSIWYG days. And wasn't Word Perfect the hot ticket for memos etc?

Had to take FORTRAN and COBOL in college, but never used them on the job

Been in IT for 20+ years now. Word Perfect, enable, dial up modems and their software, and of course, Weather Bug! Not to mention all the OS's (OS2 included and various forms of linux). Every time I install a new video driver on a new laptop that's 375 meg, it reminds me of Window 95 only being 50 meg total. ACK!

My first Windows was Windows 3, which came on (I think) 3 or maybe 4 floppy disks. I thought Windows 3.1 was an awesome upgrade and (again, I think) that upgrade was 1, maybe 2 floppy disks.
