I had my second cataract procedure last week and can't believe how my sight has improved. Colours are sharper and I no longer need specs permanently, for someone who has worn specs all my life, it was a little daunting walking out without them.

I would advise anyone offered this procedure to take it up. I shared the waiting room with a. 88 year-old gentleman who came out of theatre delighted that he had his sight back.

I was just about blind in one eye so I had the operation.
It was really great so I had the other eye done.
This was disappointing, Looked like looking out a dirty window.
Told the Doctor. Hey have you ever tried to tell a doctor anything, (Their never wrong) so put up with it.
The only complaint I have it has caused dry eye, Can be painful at times and nothing relieves it.
Doctor advised I run a heated spoon on lower eyelid daily.
Anyway Cost me 10 thousand dollars, Apart from the dry eye, hazy vision from left eye, It was worth it I suppose.
Here in Australia you can now have it done for free if you dont mind waiting 3 to 5 years

I was told last time I went to opticians that I had the start of it, well another thing to look forward to in my old age.

No doubt that a transplant is a life-changer.
But I dread the day if I ever have to have it done as I am incredibly squeamish when it comes to eyes. It's going to take several large nurses and a couple of syringes full of that stuff vets use to anestheise elephants before I allow anyone with a blade near my eye.

I had both cataracts seen to last year one in lockdown
After a dodgy start I can honestly say it was like a miracle sharp vision after living in a world of fog, the colours glorious.
I didn’t wear glasses before the op and I still don’t need them now that’s a miracle in itself.

Cataracts and having them tended to can make such a positive difference, I know
it did for my mom when she was still living....

My hubby had cataract surgery on both eyes and it was very successful, my sister is due to have the second one removed in two weeks.
