I love Jack Russells....never had one, but i've known some feisty little Jack's owned by friends.

Mom had a Pitbull named Ronald. Ronald didn’t screw around when it came to protecting Mom, you didn’t even tease or else! RIP to both.

My daughter told me yesterday that she's going to purchase a "blue" French bulldog. I told her they look like they have "bat ears!" and wrinkled flat faces. She laughed and said..."you will love him!" That's the problem..if I see the dog...I may like him...

Researching the breed there are pros and cons as mentioned up thread. I'm sure Luger (the Rottweiler) will love a new friend. I'm not so sure I want to put up with a new puppy. A huge dilemma. Whether to put my foot down and say "no" or let her get the dog. She certainly will take "bat ears" and the Rotty with her when she moves. I may even miss all of them. wink.png

A beautiful natured Breed i find never makes these lists, either here or the U.S is the Rhodesian Ridgeback
Originally bred as hunting dogs (not a fan of), we had one in our family years ago, his name was Seeger
An absolutely lovable chap he was, safe around us (then) youngsters at all times, yet a guard dog that would stand up to anything and anyone, not surprising considering they would take on Lions and other dangerous animals, hence why they were originally known as African Lion Hounds

So, for me, it is the Rhodesian Ridgeback

Many years ago I had a friend who worked in the investigations area of our Taxation Office (Internal Revenue) he had been given a case of a guy who had been claiming for three dependents, presumed to be children, for the last 15 years and then suddenly declared them deceased. Turns out he had been claiming for his Grey Hounds who for him were just as important to him as if they had been children, however they had reached the end of their racing life and eventually had to go ...... Turns out this wasn't the only case of this nature that they had had over the years, some people get really attached to their pets.

I have a Staffy at the moment, and I'm also looking after a Pointer Cross, Maltese and Wire Haired Terriers, with a Saint Bernard being the latest addition. I guess I'm a soft touch when it comes to dogs, cats, as I've mentioned are another matter.
