I don’t begrudge using hotels to house the migrants but think this facility should also be provided for the homeless too. Especially in winter,.

More than once or twice I have seen news footage of would be asylum seekers in France waiting for the chance of getting in a boat to the UK, and when interviewed and specifically asked did the thought of being sent to Rwanda put them off coming here, the answer was ‘No’ they would still take the risk. They affirmed that nothing would put them off, not even being sent to jail, and they would keep on trying to get to the UK.
Personally I am not against military sites being used to house asylum seekers.

Of course it was illegal.

Article three of The Human Rights Act states, people have the right to be free from torture and inhumane treatment. If people seeking asylum in Britain get sent to Rwanda it's possible Rwanda would send them to their country of origin and who knows what would happen then.

£140million down the drain when the NHS needs every penny they can get

Attempting to put myself in the shoes of someone who needs to leave their country and seek asylum elsewhere, i wouldn't choose Rwanda.......and certainly not via the UK!
I may as well go straight to Rwanda and cut out the hazardous channel crossing!

So it would make sense that the number of asylum seekers heading for the UK would drop if they knew their stay here would be brief, and they would be on the first plane out to Rwanda.

That said, we need to find another way to deter people from making these perilous crossings - legal and workable would be a good idea.

That's True Vienna, there should be something in France for them to apply for asylum, not sure why there isn't ? Or anywhere else for that matter ...
Maybe it's dropped because they have all settled where they wish to settle? ... Maybe Palestinians will be next? Lots of maybe's ..lol..

Just wondering how much more time effort and money is going to be wasted in the coming months.

Someone refresh my memory as to how many asylum seekers Rwanda was going to take per year for processing. I thought it was 100 initially and 200 per year over 5 years. The original agreement may have been amended.
Pretty low risk for asylum seekers : more risk of drowning in the sea on the way over from France than being flown off to Rwanda considering there will be appeals.
Why not put more effort and resources into hiring extra civil servants to process the huge backlog of asylum applications , and opening up safe routes for asylum seekers ? The latter would cut down on people traffickers and criminal gangs.
This Rwanda farce is going to go on and on.

Was that when he repeatedly failed to deny having described the Government’s Rwanda Policy as ‘batsh*t ’ ?
Apparently this is vulgar North American slang for completely mad or crazy.
