My dogs were always well trained by me, and I truly believe it is the owner who needs the training, so as to get their dog to do what they want it to do. Most dogs want to be good, because they want to be loved, Oh, I know some will say they love them anyway, but the dog reasons differently. They want to be shown, what the owner wants of them. Hence owner being trained!
These Bully XL dogs are bred to be aggresive, and to fight. Humans to blame for breeding them like this. But I say again, I would never leave ANY child alone with any dog.
I agree with you.
We had Boxers and bred a couple of litters when we wanted another puppy, our children grew up with them and so have some of our grandchildren.
We always had bitches not dogs.
They loved the children and were very gentle and protective with them……however we never left them alone with the child or children……you can never be sure what could happen such as the child poking or accidentally hurting the dog.
I trusted my Boxers, but you just don’t know what could happen.
I agree too, that some owners need training.
American Pitbull Terroirs or that style of dog is very popular around here. I have not seen a mean one in years, they are usually very sweet dogs in my experience. The Our Gang dog Petey is of that breed.
I have seen mean ones and they were trained that way or abused. I worked on a house owned by a guy who raised Rottweilers and the males were mean and he trained them that way. He was an idiot of course.
My dogs have been Border Collies, Australian Cattle Dog x Border Collie currently. My last Border Collie was a heel nipper and caused problems, he was a rescue and was used to rangle cows, it's called "grip". RIP Ray.
So IMHO, it's not so much the breed, it's the person who 'cares' for the dog that causes the problem.
