I have to agree having listened to The Chancellor’s mini budget.
Enabling the rich to get richer by removing the cap on bankers’ bonuses, shielding windfall profits of the energy giants, rewarding those who are already rich, all done by borrowing and plunging the country into years of debt. Is this a credible plan or an incredible gamble ? What if it doesn’t work ?
Will cutting stamp duty help first time buyers purchase a home of their own or will it enable the well off and crafty investors to buy houses for second homes or buy to let when house prices fall as is predicted? Are low rates of corporation tax the best way to boost investment ? Some would say this is not the case. None of these measures guarantees growth.
Do our children and grandchildren face the consequences of repaying massive Government debt for years and years to come?
What is the point of cutting taxes if it leads to The Bank of England increasing interest rates ?
