I was surprised he got off. Nine women seems compelling.

I don't think the Weinstein case has any bearing with the Salmond case. Unless it's their charming personality and good looks.wink.png

There is absolutely no connection between the two cases whatsoever.
It's ludicrous to compare.

But then some seem to have an agenda when it comes to these cases .:S .

A jury acquitted him so how can anyone say he got off, he was found not guilty and unless you were actually in the court and heard all the trial it is impossible to know exactly what the prosecution said , or the defence or even the accusers

That is borderline libelous , the guy was found not guilty by a jury, are you suggesting they were bribed or threatened?

He was found not guilty on all but one of the charges and that one was Not Proven. He has hinted that there has been some political agenda to this and that it will all come out in time so we'll have to see what transpires.

I'm no fan of Mr S by the way but a jury has made its decision.

We learn from the Salmond case......that " inappropriate behaviour" towards women is not " criminal" ...at least in Scotland. Salmond used the " consent or implied consent" card with effusive and vigorous denials of " criminal intent " ( mens rea) and a blindsider that the prosecution was " political".
We do not yet know whether any of the accusations against Salmond were " politically encouraged"? Those matters are also likely to remain " not proven"?
For those not familiar with the " Not Proven " verdict in Scotland, we have 3 verdicts ..guilty, not guilty and not proven. The first two are well known. The third " Not Proven" comes in for regular abuse for " uncertainty". Technically, it is an acquittal...but. There was just not quite enough evidence to convince the jury to convict.
A " convenient outcome" for a political show trial? The stakes were high....could the former First Minister of Scotland really go to jail for inappropriate behaviour including " sleepy cuddles"? " Not Proven"....landed a blow, but not a knockout punch!
