They stopped that years ago in the states J....guess it wasnt a trustworthy solution....

That’s not done here either... not for years ! You usually get a slip stating which postal outlet will have your parcel....

I've never had a package taken, nor has a package I've sent been taken. I guess I'll count my blessings.

9 Remember the former things of old,
For I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like Me,
10 Declaring the end from the beginning,
And from ancient times things that are not yet done,
Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand,
And I will do all My pleasure,’
11 Calling a bird of prey from the east,
The man who executes My counsel, from a far country.
Indeed I have spoken it;
I will also bring it to pass.
I have purposed it;
I will also do it. (Isaiah 46: 9-11)

I don’t know anyone who’s had package stolen.
If I’m not at home our deliveries are left with a neighbour and a there’s a card letting us know who has it.

I have a friend whose neighborhood was being hit by "porch pirates" once or twice a week a couple of years ago.
He and a friend rigged up a surprise package for them. He had access to the exploding dye packs that banks put in bundles of money. They added some wood to the box for weight and placed the dye packs in the box and placed it on his front porch.
Sure enough the next morning the package was gone. Later that morning the police were canvassing the neighborhood as they had found packages belonging to people living in the neighborhood after apprehending 3 suspects who had pulled into a gas station with pink smoke billowing out of it. The inside of the car and the suspects were totally covered with the pink dye. In the local newspaper there was a picture of the suspects covered in dye.
They haven't had any problems in that neighborhood since.
