It is disgusting to think people can and do steal from another person own doorstep.

Many years ago when the refuse collectors were on strike my husband put a lot of household rubbish in a box and tied it up ready to take to the tip. He left the parcel on the garden wall whilst he got his pick up out of the garage only to find that during the time it had taken him to unlock the garage and drive out someone had stolen the box. We often wondered what the reaction of the thief was when he opened the box!

We have three neighbours nearby that are happy to take parcels in for us if not at home....postal delivery or couriers know this and won't leave them anywhere else, they always leave a card for us so we go and collect our parcel....we do the same for those three neighbours.smile.png

The couriers should do this but don't always, especially when they're in a hurry..

I was waiting in for the delivery of two pairs of specialist trainers . I have ..no door bell and visitors / delivery people use the door -knocker. I had a text message from a delivery firm saying my packages had been delivered at a specific time, but I hadn't received them. On further investigation I was told that the they had been left on the doorstep as I hadn't answered when the door was knocked. The conclusion was the packages had been stolen. My elderly neighbours have made it clear they will not take in parcels for other people.

So sorry this happened to you Aida...we had car tires delivered to another neighbors by accident, years ago, but they hand delivered em back to us....
Hope that never happens again to you (: The FedEx guys and gals knock so loud it could wake the dead....we jump out of our skin and the dog goes bonkers

If the parcel is from Royal Mail and I'm not in they will put a card through the door and I then have to go into town to pick it up which isn't always convenient.

Once a delivery wasn't received yet Royal Mail stated it had. I asked them to about it however they were not helpful at all. There wasn't anyone in my house at the time they said they delivered and none of my neighbours had taken it in so I'm guessing it may have been left on my doorstep and stolen although I have no proof of this. However I got in touch with the company, told them that Royal Mail had been very disappointing with their response to my claim with a couldn't care less kind of attitude and the company sent me another in its place which was very decent of them.

With couriers such as Amazon, I have information where the parcel should be taken should I not be in and I know that some local small shops are available also as an option which is handy also. The couriers always leave a card stating where they have left the parcel.
