Jane Danson is giving us an exquisitely sad portrayal Leanne, mother of the very sick little boy, Oliver who has a life-limiting illness. Her desperation accurately mirrors that of the parents of Charlie Gard whose anguish was played out on our screens as they desperately tried to extend his life. So sad. Well done, Jane.

This is a heartbreaking storyline, isn’t it.

It must be a very difficult acting role for Leanne, Steve and the family to portray such heart-wrenching reactions and emotions to Oliver’s tragic, life-limiting illness.

I first became aware of the tragic consequences of Mitochondrial Disease from my sister, who has been involved with The Lily Foundation as part of her job with the NHS and a Medical Research University faculty she works with.
She has got us all involved with fund raising efforts for this charity.
The Lily Foundation do a lot of good work in raising awareness and raising funds to help children affected by mitochondrial diseases.
Step by step, one goes a long way.

This storyline is absolutely heartbreaking, sadly people in real life are living this nightmare, where their child is very ill and needing life support treatment,
Coronation street are highlighting little Oliver’s illness, and how the illness not only affects the child, but also the family.
No home is complete without the pitter patter of kitty feet.
