Cars have indicators and undoubtedly they work ok...it's the drivers brains that are failing to operate! No indication is an indication of this thoughtless/lazy driving..if you see what I mean.

People who don't indicate at roundabouts should have their cars removed for a month and made to walk everywhere. Same as people who drive on to roundabouts when their exit is blocked and just block the roundabout.

From a pedestrians point of view (me) can't tell you how annoying it is when trying to cross a side road.
So many don't indicate to let you know they are about to turn into that road.

You literally have to have eyes in the back of your head where i live.

While I'll admit that the indicators on some modern cars are hard to make out and are positioned in the strangest places, they are there, it is the operator that is at fault. Roundabouts are my pet peeve as well, it is a mandatory part of obtaining your licence to know how to indicate when entering and leaving, but I would estimate 90% forget all that the moment they have the little piece of plastic in their hands.

In the large town near to where I live there is a section of road with a roundabout at each end and the main police station in the middle, you might guess who are some of the worst offenders. I once mentioned this to a Traffic Sergeant down the pub and he just laughed. He said trying to get anyone interested in enforcing that particular law would be like pushing the proverbial uphill backwards with a fork. Why then have the law?

All modern cars are fitted with indicators that should be used when you are looking to drive in a different direction. Too many people seem to have forgotten how to use them these days, have even seen drivers turning in the opposite direction to how they are indicating on occasions. I doubt if many will know how to use hand signals these days, in the event they have failed, or they are driving a vintage car without indicators.

I always use my indicators when driving, my wife would soon tell me off.
When I first started driving I had an old Ford and a arm came out of the side and you had to give it a bang for it to work.

i did not know that law! or it may not be the same here.

I comment about the turn signals, "I guess turn signals was an option on that model and decided they didn't want it."

If my memory serves me right, hand signals are still in the drivers manual when operating a vehicle.

Yes. Stick your right arm (UK) out of the window and move in a circular motion. Unfortunately it might confuse a lot of motorists these days.
