Not guilty it was the wife who wanted one after a car reversed in to her mums car and when it went through the insurance company the guy driving the reversing car said she drove in to him and the insurances companies couldn't agree so they did that knock for knock thing and she lost her no claims bonus.
They do help a lot if you have a disputed claim as the insurance company can view the footage, Also the one we have used to switch on if someone got within about a foot from the car so it could record thieves.

I had an accident just over four years ago Vienna, and the other party had one fitted in their car. The accident was my fault, so if I had tried to deny it, he would have the footage to show it was my fault. Last October I was at a friends house just down the road from where I lived, I had called in to see them on my way back home from shopping, so my car was parked in the street outside their house. Whilst there some idiot drove past my car and took off my wing mirror and didn't stop. When I reviewed the dash cam footage, I was able to get the license plate details and report it to the police, they eventually traced the car and the driver and dealt with it. So I was glad I had the camera fitted.

We never had a problem with thieves, despite the fact that car crime was high in north london where we lived.
Reason being all the vehicles we owned over the years were second/third hand old jalopies that nobody wanted to steal...

A mate recently bought a new Mazda 2, with all the fruit. As well as a reversing camera he has side cameras too. The dash screen is multifunctional.
I have a gps navman and really wish I had a reversing camera, and dash cam. I drive a 12yo Corolla with no usb plug. It's a manual too.

My favorite new tech is speaking to my tablet for searches. It talks back too. I think she fancies me.

I see more ads for those hi tech watches that do heaps of things. I might wait for the brain implant chip.wink.png

You may be right, Dan!
Better to be be surprised at what's around the next corner than to plan on what I might find there.

Quite sexy, but very distracting.

How did that go Elspeth? I saw a tv ad for those watches. Are they glitz or offer real utility? Does your daughter like it and are they costly? New to me but the idea is intersting. I might need a new watch one-day. GPS, internet, cost of plan, .... can't see a watch with a good map? I'm just curious. Cheers, Dan.
