The antioxidants in red wine may have heart-healthy benefits, in addition to the possible health benefits of moderate alcohol intake in general.

Health Benefits of White Wine. The study showed that white wine helped repair endothelial cells. An article from ScienceDirect explains that endothelial cells line your blood vessels, which is why white wine has heart protective benefits.

Drinking red wine in moderation may be associated with a lower risk of heart disease. Beginning in the 1990s, experts began to focus on resveratrol, an antioxidant compound in red wine. Since then, some animal and lab studies have shown that resveratrol has promising antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer effects.

Health benefits of BRANDY

Relieves Respiratory Issues
Traditionally, brandy, because of its anti-inflammatory properties, had been used as an effective means to relieve respiratory issues, such as a cough or a sore throat. The strong alcoholic content helps eliminate bacteria and loosen up phlegm and mucus, thereby acting as an expectorant.

I don't take any medications at all and eat healthily so a little wine is good, as long as its not a whole bottle in one night

This reminds me of a quote by Dorothy Parker.

I like to have a martini.
Two at the very most.
After three I'm under the table.
After four I'm under my host.

2 words, Bundaberg Rum. Cures all ails, ALL AILS. After about 6 or 7, the only problem you have, is where to get numbers 8 to 12. Health benefits?, I went on a "Bundy" diet, I lost 3 days.

In Sandra's name we must follow the rules of lockdown and social distancing to get through this nightmare.

I dont see any harm at all in drinking in moderation.

I do think the health benifits (as oppossed to neutrally being harmless) are over stated though.

It worked for me recently but found that a second brandy was required to help relieve the symptoms!

I find alcohol in moderation, greatly helps in the control of stress for me and we all know that stress levels should be kept to a minimum as much as possible.

If I've had a difficult day, as happened recently.... when I'd caught the train down to Oxford and then found on my return that all trains back home had been cancelled for the day. My journey back was a real calamity and I ended up being transported in close proximity with 7 other people in a 'People Carrier' for nearly 2 hours with my back to the driver ( a nightmare for those of us that don't travel well in cars and buses ).

Finally when I did arrive home I poured myself a large glass of wine and within a short while my good humour, stress levels and blood pressure had all returned to normal.

I'm afraid that a cup of tea wouldn't have worked half as well!!!
